anecdote #3

About twelve years ago, my mom used to work at a DMV. She was very responsible at her work, and got things done. While she worked there, they were going through a reorganization in their division. While this was happening, they couldn’t get customers paper work done for their drivers license. While this was going on, they had a new manager, and all of the customers would be concerned or would complain to him. He did not like the fact that they were all bothering him about it, and how the division in which my mom worked in would tell the customers why they could not get their paper work done. While the reorganization was taking place, the new manager had sent an e-mail to everyone in my moms division telling everyone to lie for him and to not let “their dirty laundry out”. My mom said she was very angry she replied saying “I am not letting my dirty laundry out, I am being honest to the public I serve because we are using public funds and I will not lie for you or anyone in the department”. After this incident, the manager did not like my mother, and every time she would do something good at work or take responsibility for something, the manager would always give the credit to someone else. Of course my mom did not pay attention to it, because she already knew she did it and it is recorded in the computer what she got done. After this, the manager did not think about doing anything to her anymore.
